Post Graduate students receive realtime exposure at VIBS

(a unit  of MRF) from 14th May to 15th June 2012

The hand on summer training programme was conducted from 14th May to 15th June 2012. There were 12 participants (4 in Biochemistry & Cell Biology,  4 in Genetics & Molecular Biology and 4 in L & T Microbiology departments) from 10 Colleges / Institutions (Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai,(1), Vinayaga Missions University, Salem,(1), Madras University. Chennai,(1), Pragathi PG College, Chanda Nagar, Hyderabad,(1), Periyar University, Salem,(1), Loyola College,  Chennai, (1), Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, (1), Women’s Christian College, Chennai, (1), PSG College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore, (1),  and  Bharathidasan University, Trichy. (3)

The students gave a good feedback on the training programme during the valedictory function conducted on 15th June 2012. The faculty from the respective departments appreciated the enthusiasm and interest with which the participants learnt the techniques. An evaluation was conducted for participants in all three departments and  all the participants performed very well in this. The participants were requested to share the acquired knowledge and impart the skills to the juniors and colleagues in their respective colleges.  Dr. H. N. Madhavan, President, Vision Research Foundation, Director and Professor of Microbiology delivered a motivating speech and distributed the certificates to the successful participants at the valedictory function.

Dr. K. Lily Therese, VIBS Co-ordinator thanked the Medical Research Foundation and the Founder of VIBS, Padmashri  Iravatham Mahadevan, I.A.S. to have provided  the wonderful opportunity to train the Post graduate students from various Science & Arts Colleges & Research Institutions.
