Mr. Muthiah Ramanathan serves as Director – Training, in Mind Dynamics Center, President of Hypnotique Circle, Secretary of NLP and TA Circle and Faculty in Academy of Insurance Marketing and Management. He is a certified Trainer in NLP from NFNLP, Florida, USA.
He presented a half a day Audio-visual program on ‘Communication Skills’ for the Certificate course on Hospital Management in our Sankara Nethralaya Academy (TSNA) on Saturday the 1st June 2013.
Properly presented Communication involves Skills. Otherwise our Communication Kills. He started with an ice-breaker and a puzzle which made everyone to interact, rather, argue with him. He concluded saying that the puzzle was just a pointer to make them realize that the participants were stuck with their earlier learning which do not give them the provision or permission to learn something new.
He has also covered Body Language, distances ( Proxemics) and emotional connectivity.
He highlighted few examples from Neuro Linguistic Programming : Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic.
5 member groups were formed and one of the member was asked to close her eyes. 4 other members of the team would shake hands with her saying their names. And one more time when they come at random and shake hands with her she was to connect the name ( Auditory) with the touch ( Kinesthetic).
3 Member teams were formed and a member (A) was asked to sit in the front chair with his eyes closed. Another member (B) will be sitting behind and take a very complicated sitting posture. It is the responsibility of the 3rd member (C) to observe the posture (visual) of B and through verbal instructions (Auditory) make A to sit exactly like B. The photographic images of both shall match.
All the participants enjoyed playing every role in these games. They had lots of fun and joy, right from the beginning of the program and till the end. The feedback given by the participants were excellent.
