New careers in sight

The Elite School of Optometry, a unit of Medical Research Foundation, was founded in 1985 with the aim to create a pool of trained eye care professionals who would not only be competent in clinical refraction, low vision services, dispensing optics and contact lenses, but would also be trained in the early detection of ocular problems. Since its inception, the Elite School of Optometry has helped to redefine optometric education in India; it introduced the first 4 year degree course in Optometry in India. So far, close to 400 students have graduated from ESO and many of them are employed in clinical, research and academic fields of optometry both in India and abroad.
