Sankara Nethralaya. A Mission For Vision

Members of the SightFirst advisory committee visited Sankara Nethralaya on September 1, 2009 to evaluate and discuss the Lions-SN teleophthalmology Diabetic Retinopathy Programme. As part of this, the team also visited the facilities at Sankara Nethralaya, including the Jaslok Community Ophthalmic Centre.

Sankara Nethralaya and the Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited conducted the third in a series of eye camps on August 29, 2009. A total of 165 patients were screened at the camp held at Mathur; 33 patients were provided with glasses at the site; 11 patients underwent cataract surgery and six teleconsulations were held.
