Srinivasa Sankara Nethralaya opens in Tirupati

Sankara Nethralaya, in collaboration with the Thirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, opened the Srinivasa Sankara Nethralaya in Tirupati on September 21, 2009.  Inaugurated by Chief Minister K. National Eye Donation Day

To commemorate the National Eye Donation Day on September 8, 442 people pledged to donate their eyes to Sankara Nethralaya after their lifetime.

Members of the SightFirst advisory committee visited Sankara Nethralaya on September 1, 2009 to evaluate and discuss the Lions-SN teleophthalmology Diabetic Retinopathy Programme. Teleophthalmology camps

Sankara Nethralaya and the Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited conducted the third in a series of eye camps on August 29, 2009. A total of 165 patients were screened at the camp held at Mathur; 33 patients were provided with glasses at the site; 11 patients underwent cataract surgery and six teleconsulations were held.
