SN felicitates Prasanna, musician of Oscar – winning short documentry “Smile Pinki “


Mr. Prasanna, the famous guitarist, who can play carnatic music on guitar, was invited by Sankara Nethralaya, whose ardent well-wisher he is, to share his experiences of composing music for the “Smile Pinki”, the short documentary film that won Oscar award for 2008.  He was honored by “Mellisai Mannar M.S. Viswanathan, who spoke very highly of Mr. Prasanna.  Sri S.P. Muthuraman and Mr. A.V.M. Saravanan also felicitated Mr. Prasanna.   Mr. Prasanna was overwhelmed and touched by the pride of place Sankara Nethralaya had given him.  He offered all support to Sankara Nethralaya in its various activities.

Mr. Prasanna explained that though he learnt Western music like jazz, rap etc., such music is already blended in our traditional/carnatic music, witness  Sri. M.S. Viswanathan’s music and songs in 1960 itself.

Mr. S.V. Sekar, the renowned cine artist came all the way to meet and honor Mr. Prasanna.
