Two journalists namely Ms. Hong Ki Lam, Reporter for International news, Ming Pao Daily and Ms. Hung Suet Yee Zoe, Senior Reporter, Hong Kong Economic Times from Hong kong were invited by the Government of India for a tour of the country and as a part of their tour they visited Sankara Nethralaya on 26.09.2008. They interacted with Chairman Emeritus Dr S S Badrinath and Chairman Dr Lingam Gopal. Their main area of interest seemed to be medical tourism.
